\u201cFolks, before we get started, I have a quick but exciting announcement,\u201d Colbert said<\/a>. \u201cTuesday, May 5, here on \u2018The Late Show,\u2019 in his first interview from the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago, I will be sitting down with former President Barack Obama<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Colbert on Thursday acknowledged all the theories about his post-\u201cLate Show\u201d plans, joking that they run the gamut from \u201cI\u2019m moving to CNN<\/a> to I\u2019m announcing a massive wildlife rescue program to I\u2019m running for president of the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n

While that latter theory prompted another round of cheers at the Ed Sullivan Theater, Colbert has already managed to snag his dream gig. The \u201cLord of the Rings<\/a>\u201d mega-fan revealed last month that he and his son are co-writing a feature film installment<\/a> in the franchise.<\/p>\n

Colbert couldn\u2019t help but poke fun at the rumors, however, and joked, \u201cI can tell you tonight, I can reveal right now, that all of those are partially true. Next year, I will be president of an animal sanctuary dedicated to caring for the rare Blitzer Wolf.\u201d<\/p>\n

The crowd lost it when an image appeared of Colbert bottle-feeding CNN host Wolf Blitzer<\/a>.<\/p>\n
