<\/p>\nNumerous left wing social media activists, including Abbie Chatfield and Hannah Ferguson, have lashed out at upcoming anti-mass immigration protests, with Ms Chatfield labelling them \u201cracist, bigoted” and “disgusting.”<\/p>\n
In the past week a range of flyers have been circulated on social media calling for people to take part in \u201cAustralia first\u201d protests on August 31 in every capital city.<\/p>\n
One poster said \u201cAustralia, it\u2019s time to rise\u201d while others displayed slogans including \u201cAustralia first, end mass migration for our children\u201d and \u201cit\u2019s time to take our country back.\u201d<\/p>\n
Promotional posters did not disclose which group was organising the rallies; however, a \u201cMarch for Australia\u201d website has since been established stating that \u201cAustralia is changing in ways most of us never agreed to.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople are waking up to a country they barely recognise. Endless migration, weak leadership, and political cowardice have brought us here, and it\u2019s time to put a stop to it,\u201d the website said.<\/p>\n

The poster insisted the \u201cevent is peaceful and is not intended to incite hate or violence.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
When asked about the planned rallies on Monday NSW Police Minister Yasmin Catley said police were aware of the events and were closely following the situation.<\/p>\n
A spokeswoman for Ms Catley said in a statement to the Daily Telegraph that \u201cbased on the information currently available, police are not aware of who this group is or what they are proposing.\u201d<\/p>\n
She added that \u201cno Form 1\u201d, which is a legal document that protest organisers must submit to the police notifying them of a planned demonstration, had been submitted for August 31.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen a Form 1 is submitted, it will be assessed like any other gathering and NSW Police will work with the organisers once that process is complete,\u201d the spokeswoman added.<\/p>\n
Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and ACT Police also confirmed they were aware of the planned rallies and that no notice of motion had been received, according to News.com.au.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The group said it would hold simultaneous rallies in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Townsville, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra and called on volunteers to enlist and attendees to register for updates.<\/p>\n
The website initially said it would hold its Sydney rally at Speaker\u2019s Corner across from the NSW Art Gallery and its Melbourne demonstration at the State Library – however those details have since been removed and now state that locations are \u201cto be confirmed.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a recent Instagram post the organisers claimed they were a \u201cgrassroots\u201d movement and that various groups were attempting to take ownership of the protests and attach their own agenda to the demonstrations.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe wish to make it clear: the organisers are not members of, nor acting on behalf of, any other group. In particular, recent claims by Thomas Sewell of White Australia are not reflective of the organisers nor the politics of March For Australia,\u201d the post read.<\/p>\n
The official poster urged attendants to \u201cbring your flag\u201d yet added \u201cit doesn\u2019t matter which Australian flag you bring, as long as it represents Australia.\u201d<\/p>\n
NSW Premier Chris Minns was asked about the demonstrations on Monday and seemed unfamiliar with the topic, asking \u201ccan someone help me out, is that the Nazi group in Melbourne?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s the last thing we need in a city like Sydney, it\u2019s a beautiful place to live one of the best things about Sydney no matter where you come from you live together in peace together,\u201d Mr Minns said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt seems deplorable you want to bring that division to the streets of Sydney; it\u2019s the last thing we need in Sydney and you are not welcome.”<\/p>\n
