Before Friday\u2019s game, the Cubs announced<\/a> that they had made a roster decision on Scott Kingery<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network wrote:<\/a> \u201c-RHP Vince Velasquez<\/a> contract selected. \u2013Caleb Thielbar<\/a> placed on the 15-day IL with a left hamstring strain. -Scott Kingery designated for assignment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kingery appeared in eight games for the Cubs this season.<\/p>\n

He spent the first four years of his career playing for the Philadelphia Phillies.<\/p>\n

During the 2019 season, Kingery batted .258 with 19 home runs, 55 RBI\u2019s, 64 runs and 15 stolen bases in 126 games.<\/p>\n

Over 352 career games, the 31-year-old is batting .227 with 30 home runs, 96 RBI\u2019s, 137 runs and 27 stolen bases.<\/p>\n
