The Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) charted a course for the future of the provincial competition and celebrated a clean financial audit during its 2026 Annual General Meeting at the Novotel in Lami today.<\/p>\n
Twenty-six rugby union representatives gathered for the event, which began with a workshop providing unions with a detailed outlook on the 2026 Provincial Competition.<\/p>\n
A key highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the 2025 financial report. Board member and Director of Finance Mr. Anare Manulevu confirmed that audit firm EY had issued a clean audit result. The financials were presented in two parts: the Fiji Rugby Football Union Trust Board Financial Statements for the year ended December 31, 2025, and the Fiji Rakavi Football Union Limited Financials for 2025.<\/p>\n
In its inaugural year as Fiji Rakavi \u2014 the commercial arm of FRU \u2014 the organization generated total revenue of\u00a0$27.08 million\u00a0and achieved a net profit of\u00a0$231,920.<\/p>\n
Elections were also held during the AGM. Per the Fiji Rugby Articles of Association, each board member serves a two-year term, concluding the terms of Director of Finance Anare Manulevu and Director of Legal Mosese Naivalu. Both gentlemen were re-elected to their respective positions.<\/p>\n
Mr. Tony Ram, announced late last year as a Co-opted Director (a non-voting member on the FRU board), was formally welcomed at the AGM. Meanwhile, Isaac Mow was nominated by the Suva Rugby Union and received support from the members present.<\/p>\n
Fiji Rugby Union Chief Executive Officer Koli Sewabu expressed gratitude for the organization\u2019s financial health during its first year operating as Fiji Rakavi Limited.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not sure about previous years, but we\u2019re grateful for this year that we\u2019ve got an unqualified audit report from our auditors Ernst & Young,\u201d Sewabu said. \u201cSo we\u2019re really grateful for that, working with our trustee through this transition. But as part of the major changes too, we are now working with World Rugby.\u201d<\/p>\n
