The Los Angeles Lakers<\/a> moved to a 3-0 series lead over the Houston Rockets<\/a> after a 112-108 overtime win on Friday, a result anchored by LeBron James<\/a>\u2019 continued all-around impact despite heavy minutes and mounting playoff pressure.<\/p>\n

LeBron, 41 and in his 19th postseason run, scored 29 points in more than 45 minutes of action. He produced a pivotal sequence late in regulation, including a steal and a game-tying three-pointer with 13 seconds remaining. Earlier, he also had consecutive turnovers that helped Houston briefly build a 101-95 advantage before Los Angeles<\/a> rallied again.<\/p>\n

James finished regulation with a missed potential game-winner at the buzzer after the game-tying shot forced overtime<\/a>. In the extra period, he added a steal and a block as the Lakers pulled away. He also recorded 13 rebounds.<\/p>\n

Head coach JJ Redick<\/a>, speaking after the win, made it clear how much he continues to value what James brings on the court.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always appreciate and don\u2019t take for granted what he\u2019s able to do,\u201d said<\/a> Redick. \u201cI guess I\u2019ve known him for 26 years, and I\u2019ve watched him play for 26 years. We met when we were both about 15 or 16 years old. Always enjoy it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Los Angeles, playing without Luka Doncic<\/a> (hamstring strain) and Austin Reaves<\/a> (oblique injury), leaned on additional production from Marcus Smart<\/a> and Rui Hachimura<\/a>. Smart finished with 21 points and 10 assists, including 8 points in overtime, while Hachimura scored 22 points. Smart also helped trigger the overtime push, including a 3-pointer during a 6-2 opening run in OT.<\/p>\n

The Rockets were led by Alperen Sengun<\/a>\u2019s 33 points and 16 rebounds, while Amen Thompson<\/a> contributed 26 points and 11 rebounds. Houston, missing Kevin Durant<\/a> due to a sprained ankle, held a late six-point lead before collapsing down the stretch.<\/p>\n

The Lakers, up 3-0, now stand one win away from advancing and can sweep the series with a win in Game 4 on Sunday night, as no NBA team has ever come back from a 0-3 deficit in a playoff series.<\/p>\n
