BOYDS, Md.\u00a0\u2013 The No. 1-seeded Brown women’s rugby team dominated in the opening rounds of the 2026 Collegiate Rugby Championship National 7s Tournament, shutting out No. 8 UConn, 38-0, and No. 4 West Chester, 36-0, on Saturday at the Maryland Soccerplex.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Brown advanced to face No. 3 Navy on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the winner moving onto the championship at 3 p.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Brown vs. UConn (W, 38-0):<\/p>\n

Brown opened the CRC 7s Tournament with a shutout performance against No. 8 UConn. Laryssa Barbosa<\/a> scored just 40 seconds in, with Julia Murray<\/a> converting. Charlotte Davies<\/a> added two first-half tries, and Murray also converted. Caitlin Moroney<\/a>, Olivia Baptiste<\/a>, and Yona Allouche<\/a> scored in the second half, with Murray finishing four conversions for a 38-0 win.<\/p>\n

Brown advanced to the semis by shutting out No. 4 West Chester. Murray struck early with a try, followed by Baptiste, who scored and had Murray convert. Barbosa and Baptiste added first-half tries, all successfully converted by Murray. Davies and Barbosa rounded out the scoring in the second half for a 36-0 victory.<\/p>\n
