\u201cWe saw what we were capable of those first couple of games of the year, when you\u2019re lucky you\u2019re at full strength and that\u2019s what we\u2019re gonna base it off. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re doing it tough at the moment, but to get him back on the field and a host of others is exactly what we need. <\/p>\n
\u201cNot making excuses. We didn\u2019t play good enough today and we played a classy opposition, so we\u2019re going into games confident of winning it, but if we\u2019re not gonna play at our best, then we\u2019re not gonna get the results. <\/p>\n
\u201cSo a lot of tough lessons for a lot of guys, but a lot of young guys playing plenty of minutes at NRL level, so we\u2019ll be better in the long run, but not today.\u201d <\/p>\n
Knights skipper Phoenix Crossland was excited to have Ponga commit his long-term future to the club for the next four years. <\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s massive for the club, massive for the team,\u201d Crossland said. <\/p>\n
\u201cFirst and foremost, Kalyn is one of my best mates, so to see him here for another three years is outstanding.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s our captain. He leads this club and it\u2019s good that he\u2019s here for another three years, it\u2019s really exciting.\u201d <\/p>\n
Holbrook is hoping to have Ponga, Bradman Best and Greg Marzhew back next week as well as Tyson Frizell. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe just gotta have another good week and we\u2019ve got to get on with it,\u201d Holbrook said. <\/p>\n
\u201cFrom the left edge that played in Round 1 we didn\u2019t have anyone in that position today, so we\u2019re confident maybe having them all back next week. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt makes a huge difference for four players all alongside each other to play together, get used to each other and get the combinations, which we worked hard in pre-season to mix guys around, so they would be OK with it. <\/p>\n
\u201cBut it\u2019s hard when you\u2019re playing good sides and then you\u2019re not hanging onto the ball yourselves. It\u2019s very hard to trouble them.\u201d <\/p>\n
However Holbrook wouldn\u2019t be drawn on who in the spine will miss out when Ponga returns. <\/p>\n
