Despite the significant injury, Ulberg was able to drop Jiri Prochazka with a hook and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bjpenn.com\/mma-news\/carlos-ulberg\/ufc-327-results-carlos-ulberg-kos-jiri-prochazka-video\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">finished the fight<\/a> to capture the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship.<\/p>\n<p>In a video update posted by UFC, Ulberg revealed the time frame for a potential return. The 205-pound champion is optimistic about how his recovery is going early on.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8 Carlos Ulberg says recovery from his ACL surgery could take 6-8 months<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the progress we\u2019ve got at the moment, we\u2019re moving pretty good&#8230; the body is healing really fast.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>(via <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ufc?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">@ufc<\/a>) <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ad1qfLon67\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/ad1qfLon67<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Championship Rounds (@ChampRDS) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChampRDS\/status\/2048432922101776469?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">April 26, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really positive about the progress and the rehab,\u201d Ulberg said. \u201cIt\u2019s an ACL. We went into the surgery thinking that this could be between six to eight months or so. Longer for some, but with the progress that we\u2019ve got at the moment, it\u2019s only been a week now and we\u2019re moving pretty good. I think we\u2019ve got a good formula going. The body\u2019s healing really fast. The doctors are happy. The staff are happy. It\u2019s really nice to able to work closely with the PI and get the treatment that I need to.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>UFC CEO Dana White told reporters that he was in no rush to decide whether or not an interim light heavyweight title fight is needed. The likes of former champion Magomed Ankalaev, and an emerging Paulo Costa are looking for their opportunities. One can\u2019t rule out Prochazka keeping himself in the mix as well.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless, Ulberg will be fully focused on his rehab so that he can return to the Octagon at full health.<\/p>\n<p>Do you think there will be an interim light heavyweight title fight before Carlos Ulberg returns from injury?
