The designer is the focus of the <a href=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/tag\/new-york\/\" id=\"auto-tag_new-york\" data-tag=\"new-york\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">New York<\/a> center\u2019s upcoming exhibition, \u201cYves Saint Laurent and <a href=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/fashion-news\/fashion-scoops\/dior-exhibitions-kyotographie-photography-festival-sponsor-1238871388\/\" id=\"related_article_link_photography\" data-tag=\"photography\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Photography<\/a>,\u201d which opens June 11.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe exhibition highlights the relationship between fashion and photography, but specifically the role that photography played in shaping Yves Saint Laurent\u2019s career and creative approach over four decades, from 1968 until his last runway show in 2002.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201c\u200aIt was so obvious how important photography was in his life; it was undeniable. You could see that it was pouring out of every aspect of his career and in his life,\u201d says Nastasia Alberti, deputy head of collections and head archivist at the <a data-id=\"1235143204\" data-type=\"post\" href=\"https:\/\/wwd.com\/fashion-news\/fashion-scoops\/yves-saint-laurent-museum-names-new-director-1235143204\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mus\u00e9e Yves Saint Laurent Paris<\/a>. \u201cHe really cared about his image. Horst, Andy Warhol and others.
