The 54th edition of the Thunderdome series returns to the Metro City Arena for the second time this year with another stacked card on May 26.<\/p>\n
Welterweight Joel Lewis will return for his first fight this year when squares off with China\u2019s \u201cWhite Fang\u201d Weifang Li. Since a sole career loss in Thailand nearly two years ago, Lewis (8-1, 5 KOs) has put together four straight stoppage victories.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Team is flying and growing at the moment,\u201d Lewis said in a statement sent to Boxing Social. \u201cI know I have to earn my stripes and I plan to put on a showcase May 29 and start challenging for Championships honours in 2026\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI know [Dragon Fire] will look after me in 2026 and I\u2019m sure it\u2019ll be a massive year for me now that I\u2019m entering my prime. I\u2019ll be getting a lot more wins under my belt and hopefully more titles will come as well. I know I\u2019m very young but I\u2019m improving every day and I plan on making 2026 a breakout year for \u201cThe Dirty Boy\u201d Joel \u2018Lethal\u2019 Lewis.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Perth native has seen an improvement in his backroom staff, enlisting the help of multiple world championship trainer Angelo Hyder. While in Hyder\u2019s Queensland gym, Lewis has had the chance to work alongside former world champions, Andrew and Jason Moloney<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cMy camp is what made the difference against Fano Kori,\u201d Lewis added. \u201cI felt I was ready for that fight.
