They don’t make too many running backs like Jordon Vaughn.<\/p>\n

Vaughn is one of the newest members of the Indianapolis Colts<\/a> after signing as an undrafted free agent<\/a>, and he’s huge.<\/p>\n

He was listed in his final college season at Abilene Christian as 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds. That’s about as big as an RB will get this side of Derrick Henry<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Vaughn is originally from Manvel, Texas, where he was a three-star recruit. He spent his first two college seasons at Wyoming but got just 16 total carries there.<\/p>\n

He then played sparingly in his first two seasons at Abilene Christian, too, before finally getting a real opportunity in 2025.<\/p>\n

He finished his final college season having run the ball 114 times for 671 yards, which is 5.9 yards per carry. That included eight rushing touchdowns.<\/p>\n

Vaughn also had 11 catches for 72 yards in 2025 for ACU.<\/p>\n

The path to a roster spot for an undrafted free agent is never easy, but Vaughn’s size means he brings a totally different element to the table.<\/p>\n

The Colts have Jonathan Taylor<\/a>, and last year’s fifth-round pick DJ Giddens<\/a>, and this year’s seventh-round pick Seth McGowan, but this is not a deep RB room behind Taylor. If Vaughn can impress in rookie minicamp and the summer, he’d have a chance to at least get on the practice squad and maybe eventually more.<\/p>\n

It took Vaughn a while even to get a real chance in college football, so he’s certainly used to being patient and trying to prove people wrong.<\/p>\n
