An AFL WAG has been widely criticised after posting a sponsored \u201cget ready with me\u201d video on Anzac Day, with many accusing her of turning a day of national reflection into branded content.<\/p>\n
Annalise Dalins, 25, fianc\u00e9e of Collingwood player Josh Daicos, posted the reel on her personal Instagram before the traditional Collingwood versus Essendon clash at the MCG, tagging it as an advertisement in partnership with Australian label Forever New.<\/p>\n
The Instagram reel, captioned \u201cCome get ready with me for ANZAC DAY\u201d, opens with Dalins acknowledging the significance of the occasion before pivoting to outfit details.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs today is a super important special day it all just hits a little bit different paying our respects and really taking a moment to reflect,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
She then shifts focus to her look for the match, commenting on the weather and styling choices.<\/p>\n
\u201cMelbourne has really delivered with the weather, it is the most beautiful afternoon,\u201d she continued, adding it was good wear high heel shoes to \u201celongate her legs\u201d with her skirt.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was planning on wearing this coat because I thought it would be freezing cold and it is like such a moment, however it is so warm, she won\u2019t be coming with me this week,\u201d Ms Dalins said.<\/p>\n
The post quickly drew mixed reactions, with mainly heavy criticism flooding the comments section to call out the post for being “tone-deaf”.<\/p>\n
\u201cMonetizing for a little fit check off Anzac Days,\u201d one wrote.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut wait. Let\u2019s go pies. This is horrible and very poor taste.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another user said, \u201cThis is putrid. they way the intro was I thought you actually meant it was a special day and you were going to reflect at a local dawn service lol but you turned it into a day about dressing up for footy lol.\u201d<\/p>\n
Some also took issue with the absence of traditional symbols of remembrance.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel like she forgot the red poppy on purpose, as it didn\u2019t \u2018complete the fit,\u2019\u201d one claimed.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou got to be a special type of ignorant and out of touch to think this was a good idea or remotely respectful,\u201d another wrote.<\/p>\n
Brands also weighed in, with Perce Eyewear posting: \u201cLest We Forget. The only note.\u201d<\/p>\n
Others suggested an Anzac pin would have \u201ccompleted the look\u201d.<\/p>\n
The clip was later re-posted by satirical Instagram account, @TheParaSocialClub, where similar criticism followed.<\/p>\n
However, not all responses were negative, with some defending Dalins\u2019 decision to post on the public holiday.<\/p>\n
\u201cGood on her. It\u2019s her job and she owns it. What she\u2019s meant to have a day off because it\u2019s Anzac Day?? Anzacs literally fought for this freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t see what\u2019s wrong with it,\u201d another said.<\/p>\n
Since Monday morning, the Instagram reel had attracted dozens of comments and shares.<\/p>\n
