N\ufefforway’s Crown Prince couple<\/a> have quietly flown into Australia to help their daughter settle into university.<\/p>\n

Crown Prince Haakon, 52, who is first in line to the Scandinavian country’s throne, was pictured in Sydney with his wife Crown Princess Mette-Marit, 51.<\/p>\n

Their eldest daughter, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, started classes at the University of Sydney last week<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\ufeffPrincess Ingrid Alexandra, 21, moved to Sydney in late July<\/a> for a bachelor’s degree in social science, specialising in international relations and political economy.<\/p>\n

She is living in student housing on the university campus, inside the prestigious St Andrew’s College.<\/p>\n

Her parents were seen in the Harbour City last week after arriving in top secret.<\/p>\n

It’s believed Crown Princess Mette-Marit had travelled to Sydney ahead of her husband, spending time helping her daughter settle into campus life.<\/p>\n

She was later joined by Crown Prince Haakon, fresh from a holiday in Portugal with his son Prince Sverre Magnus, 19, and stepson Marius Borg H\u00f8iby, who is currently facing charges of assault<\/a> after his arrest in August last year.<\/p>\n

Norwegian magazine Se og H\u00f8r published photos and video of the Crown Prince couple at Sydney airport, showing them walking through the terminal with a bodyguard.<\/p>\n

They have since returned home to Norway, with the Crown Prince scheduled to attend various events in Svalbard this week.<\/p>\n

Princess Ingrid Alexandra has been seen on a number of occasions before start of the semester, including on a party boat in Sydney harbour.<\/p>\n

She has also been photographed buying wine with friends close to her campus accommodation.<\/p>\n

Most recently, the princess was seen outside the Sydney Aquarium in Darling Harbour.<\/p>\n

Days after her arrival in Australia, Norway’s royal household shared photos of Ingrid<\/a> Alexandra exploring the university including some of her outside the Sydney Opera House.<\/p>\n

\ufeffAlthough this is believed to be Princess Ingrid Alexandra’s first time in Australia, she would be familiar with some aspects of life Down Under thanks to her mother.<\/p>\n

Crown Princess Mette-Marit spent a year at Wangaratta High School in Victoria, in her late teens.<\/p>\n

In 1992 Mette-Marit lived in Australia as an exchange student.<\/p>\n

The daughter of a journalist and a bank employee, she was then known as Mette-Marit Tjessem H\u00f8iby and spent around six months at Wangaratta High School before going to the University of Oslo.<\/p>\n

Princess Ingrid Alexandra’s move to Sydney will take the young royal away from official duties for three years, however there is the chance she could return home during semester breaks.<\/p>\n

Despite her place as second-in-line to the throne, she has only recently begun carrying out regular appearances at public events alongside the royal family.<\/p>\n

European royals unite for Princess Ingrid’s 18th birthday<\/p>\n

Princess Ingrid Alexandra’s grandfather is King Harald V, who is Europe’s oldest-reigning monarch<\/a> at 88.<\/p>\n

In April, she joined her parents and the King and Queen for a state banquet inside the royal palace<\/a> in Oslo hosted for Iceland’s visiting presidential couple.<\/p>\n

It was the first time Princess Ingrid has taken part in such a formal occasion and the highest level of a foreign visit<\/a>.\ufeff \ufeff\ufeffFor the occasion, Princess Ingrid wore a tiara gifted on her 18th birthday<\/a> in 2022.<\/p>\n

Princess Ingrid Alexandra will one day become Norway’s first queen regnant for more than 600 years.\ufeff<\/p>\n
