Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul<\/a> are one game away from making it back to the EuroLeague Final Four after claiming a commanding 2-0 lead with an 86-74 win in Game 2<\/a> against Zalgiris Kaunas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Despite the win, Fenerbahce head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius<\/a> wasn’t in a celebratory mood and concluded the press conference abruptly.<\/p>\n

Jasikevicius was asked, “Would you like to deliver this kind of performance in Athens, in the Final Four final as well?” The Fenerbahce head coach appeared irritated by the question and walked out, calling it disrespectful.<\/p>\n

In the rest of the press conference, Jasikevicius praised his team, emphasizing physicality as a key to this win.<\/p>\n

“We played very well today. We were aware that Zalgiris would start the game very aggressively and physically. We managed to respond to that physicality. Especially at certain moments of the game, we played great. It is important for us to stay calm and keep improving, as we have been doing over the last two or three weeks,” Jasikevicius said.<\/p>\n

“This is playoff basketball. In the playoffs, if you lose the physical battle against your opponent, you probably cannot win the series. We did not lose that battle, and we were very good at certain moments. Of course, Zalgiris are a very tough team. They have very physical and tough players. As I said, it was important not to lose the physical battle.”<\/p>\n

“Today, we were able to keep Zalgiris’ main players under control. At the same time, we also controlled their bench contribution to some extent. Of course, in Kaunas, Zalgiris’ bench players will probably be more comfortable. After all, they are more used to playing at home. Zalgiris are a very difficult team to beat at home,” he added.<\/p>\n
