Emily Blunt is being slammed on social media for telling fans to quit their jobs and settle for making \u201cno money.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Devil Wears Prada 2 actress made the remarks in a YouTube interview<\/a> with Betches, where she was asked if she has advice for \u201cwomen who are hating their jobs right now.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cQuit \u2026 no,\u201d she said under her breath.<\/p>\n Blunt then laughed and added, \u201cJust find something that you deeply want to do.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cEven if you\u2019re earning no money, as long as you love it, you\u2019ll be happy,\u201d the 43-year-old added.<\/p>\n Fans called out Blunt\u2019s \u201cawful career advice on social media,\u201d noting that it\u2019s easy for the actress, who is worth an estimated $US80 million, to tell people to take a job that pays less.<\/p>\n \u201cThat can only be said by an (over)privileged person,\u201d one fan wrote in the YouTube comments.<\/p>\n The same fan called Blunt \u201centitled.\u201d<\/p>\n On X, someone tweeted<\/a>, \u201cEmily Blunt really should know better than being this tone deaf. Can rich celebrities earning millions please stop preaching to the rest of us about how unimportant money is. It\u2019s insulting.\u201d<\/p>\n Another fan said<\/a>, \u201cGenuinely terrible advice in the current job market but I would love to be this delusional and out of touch with reality.\u201d<\/p>\n A different X user confessed that the Oscar nominee\u2019s \u201cdistasteful\u201d advice \u201cmade me think less of her.\u201d<\/p>\n Somebody else slammed Blunt\u2019s \u201cprivileged take\u201d and noted that \u201cnot everyone has the luxury to go for the job they want and abandon the job they have now even if it sucks.\u201d<\/p>\n Page Six has reached out to Blunt\u2019s rep for comment.<\/p>\n Blunt has been on the press tour for The Devil Wears Prada 2 alongside Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci.<\/p>\n In the sequel, her character, Emily Charlton, has gone from being Miranda Priestly\u2019s (Streep) assistant to a senior executive at Dior.<\/p>\n
