<\/a><\/p>\nKirsten O\u2019Brien has left her weekday mid-morning show on BBC Radio Berkshire to take up a new role on BBC Radio 2.<\/p>\n
She will begin reading afternoon travel reports on the station from Monday, following eight years at BBC Radio Berkshire.<\/p>\n
On her final 10am to 2pm show on Friday, Kirsten thanked listeners and colleagues, reflecting on her time at the station and the variety of stories she has covered.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cIt\u2019s eight years I\u2019ve been here\u2026 I\u2019ve really, really enjoyed it.\u201d She also thanked the production team and contributors behind the scenes, describing her time as \u201cabsolutely brilliant\u201d.<\/p>\n
Her departure was marked by a surprise appearance from former CBBC colleagues Dick and Dom, who joined the programme live and joked about taking over her slot.<\/p>\n
Kirsten also confirmed that Brigitte Tetta will take over the mid-morning programme on the station.<\/p>\n
