EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 Downtown El Paso was packed Friday as multiple major events brought crowds, costumes and traffic into the city center, with even bigger turnouts expected through the weekend.<\/p>\n
Day one of Comic Con took over the El Paso Convention Center, drawing fans who flooded downtown streets dressed as their favorite characters. <\/p>\n
A fan dressed as Spider-Man said, “I dressed up as Peter Parker, from into the Spider-Verse. I love Spider-Man. So that’s why I dressed up.”<\/p>\n

The festival has also led to some street closures in the area.<\/p>\n And at the Sun Bowl, BTS is set to take over, with fans traveling to El Paso from across Texas and beyond for the concert. <\/p>\n Stephanie, a BTS fan, described her reaction to seeing El Paso on the tour schedule: “I cried like full on cried. I couldn’t believe it.” She added, “it’s been like six, seven years already that I’ve been like following them. So I was like super excited.”<\/p>\n With Comic Con, festival preparations, and the BTS concert all happening at once, the crowds were also being felt on the roads. One person said, “There’s a lot of traffic, a lot of people on I-10 when I was driving earlier. So there’s a lot going on.”<\/p>\n
