\"Mukesh Mukesh Khanna<\/a>, who is best known for his iconic roles as Shaktimaan and Bhishma Pitamah, may be 67, but his views on marriage, relationships and life remain deeply rooted in spirituality and personal conviction. In a recent conversation, the veteran actor opened up about why he never married, his belief in destiny, and why he rejects the idea of masculinity being tied to multiple relationships.<\/p>\n

\u2018I don\u2019t believe in proving manhood with affairs\u2019<\/p>\n

Addressing perceptions around masculinity, Khanna recalled how filmmaker Ravi Chopra once told him, \u201cA man is someone who has affairs.\u201dDisagreeing strongly, the actor told The Filmy Charcha, \u201cEveryone had affairs in that group\u2014I didn\u2019t. I don\u2019t believe you need 10 girlfriends to prove your manhood. There are other ways to prove it.\u201dHe emphasised that his stance has often been misunderstood, especially when it comes to women. \u201cI am not against women. In fact, I respect women a lot,\u201d he clarified.<\/p>\n

\u2018If you are married, you are committed\u2019<\/p>\n

Khanna spoke at length about fidelity in marriage, questioning societal double standards.\u201cPeople say a woman should be pativrata. But has anyone said a man should also be pativrata? I say that,\u201d he said, adding, \u201cIf you are married, you are committed. Two souls have met. But people don\u2019t believe this\u2026 they say \u2018I love my wife\u2019 and still move around. That is cheating.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018I believe in marriage more than most people\u2019<\/p>\n

Despite never having married, Khanna insisted that he has strong faith in the institution.\u201cPeople think if you don\u2019t marry, you don\u2019t believe in marriage. That\u2019s not true. I believe in the institution of marriage more than most people,\u201d he said.However, he believes marriage is governed by destiny. \u201cA wife doesn\u2019t just come randomly. She is written in destiny,\u201d he explained. <\/p>\n

Drawing from spiritual texts, Khanna shared his belief that marriage is a deeper, karmic bond.\u201cAccording to scriptures, a wife is your prarabdh from a previous life. She comes into your life to correct your karma,\u201d he said.He added, \u201cAffairs can be many\u2014but a wife is one. Marriage is the union of two souls.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018Love happens only once\u2019<\/p>\n

On love, the actor was clear and uncompromising.\u201cLove happens only once. The rest is infatuation or desire,\u201d he said, adding that moving on easily diminishes the meaning of love.\u201cIf you say \u2018I love you\u2019 to one person and then go to another, you are being ungrateful,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

Why he never married<\/p>\n

Explaining his personal choice, Khanna said it ultimately comes down to fate.\u201cIf it was meant to happen, it would have happened by now. The woman I am destined to marry already exists somewhere. When destiny brings us together, it will happen,\u201d he said, adding that age is not a factor.\u201cWhat is age?
