By November 28, 2021, Hamze had already seen four members of his family shot dead and knew of threats to his own life.<\/p>\n
Documents used as part of Person 1’s case detail how Hamze hatched the infamous gym shooting plot.<\/p>\n

At first, according to the documents, he suggested a “drug rip” on a safehouse frequented by the Alameddine organised crime network before changing tack.<\/p>\n
Enlisting Person 1, a man he met in jail who owed him money for drugs, Hamze was accused by police of taking things further.<\/p>\n
On CCTV footage used as part of the police case, Hamze can be seen sipping from a coffee when he offers a huge bounty.<\/p>\n
The court documents say he offered $2 million to take out senior Alameddine family figure Masood Zakaria and $800,000 for anyone else from the rival clan.<\/p>\n
According to the files, Hamze wanted to “f***ing knock” John Bayssari and rappers Nasa Nova and Ali Younes, who also have associations with his rivals.<\/p>\n

Hamze would tell Person 1, and another man known as Person 2, he had “proper guns” and already knew locations where their targets would frequent.<\/p>\n
Person 1 agreed on the proviso it would clear his drug debt to the Hamzy organised crime network, a document tendered to court by police alleges.<\/p>\n
A week later, Hamze demonstrated how to use the assault rifles eventually fired in the gym shooting.<\/p>\n
“If you shoot them with this, you will blow a hole in them, and you will get them,” Hamze said.<\/p>\n
The hit squad<\/p>\n
Days later, Person 1 and Person 2 enlisted a third person to their hit squad.<\/p>\n
The third man was jailed for 23-years after pleading guilty to four counts of shooting with intent to murder for the events that followed.<\/p>\n
“F**k yeah. F***ing oath,” court documents record the third man’s response to joining in on the plot to kill members of the Alameddine family.<\/p>\n
The bounty on Mr Bayssari had been increased to $1 million by the Hamzy family boss, detectives were told, according to court documents.<\/p>\n

Mr Bayssari fled Sydney for Lebanon in 2023 and is wanted on a warrant for conspiring to murder members of the Hamzys in a separate case.<\/p>\n
The documents state the kill crew were provided with getaway cars, guns and photos of their targets by Hamze.<\/p>\n
According to the documents, the hired gunmen met an older member of the Hamzy family who placed a cardboard box in their car.<\/p>\n
“I’ve got your work tools,” he told them at a park in Merrylands, according to court documents.<\/p>\n
Inside was an M16 assault rifle, bullets and magazines to clip into the firearm.<\/p>\n

On November 26, 2021 \u2014 two days before the shooting \u2014 police intercepted phone calls between Person 1 and Person 2.<\/p>\n
A transcript of the call shows they were lying to Hamze about scouting out the gym, where Alameddine family associates were known to train.<\/p>\n
Hamze was “getting stressed” about the delays on taking out his rivals.<\/p>\n
Person 1: Bro [Hamze] is itching aye.<\/p>\n
Person 2: Well what he say? What he say?<\/p>\n
Person 1: Nah he’s, I know he’s itching bro for f*****g, he’s itching for, you know why now, itching for it.<\/p>\n
After arriving at the World Gym complex, the hit squad is seen on CCTV obtained by police, staking out the car park in a black Mazda.<\/p>\n
Court documents reveal inside the car the trio were scrolling through images of their targets.<\/p>\n
“That’s them! That’s them!,” the third member of the squad said as the four members of the Alameddine clan approached the gym.<\/p>\n
‘Surely one of them will die’<\/p>\n
What happened next shocked Sydney.<\/p>\n
The targets could be seen ducking for cover, with one being dragged inside the gym after being struck in the leg.<\/p>\n
A graphic image tendered to court showed the man, Murat Gulasi, laying on the floor with his leg and ankle bleeding out.<\/p>\n

But the most disturbing footage from the scene showed the bullets from the gunman’s automatic rifles whizzing centimetres past children in a nearby daycare centre.<\/p>\n
The children could be seen playing as several of the 18 shots fired landed in a wall next to them as their carers scrambled for cover.<\/p>\n
Police would later allege that all three in the car fired shots, including the third member of the squad who was driving.<\/p>\n
That night, their conversations were captured by police inside one of their group chats as media reports emerged about the shooting.<\/p>\n
“F***in’ hell, bra, I’m so dirty,” the driver said.<\/p>\n
“Waiting to see the news \u2026 surely one of them will die,” he continued.<\/p>\n
“F**k braaaaaaa \u2026 that’s the guy that I hit and fell \u2026 I’ll hit these c***s again \u2026 tell them we’ll do another one \u2026 f****n’ dogs fmd [f**k me dead].”<\/p>\n
Soon after Hamze reaches out to Person 1 on ChatMail.<\/p>\n
“You know what the agreement was, 1, 2, 3. I can’t meet up tonight because it’s too red hot. We will meet up tomorrow night,” he writes.<\/p>\n
Hamze only ended up handing over $30,000 to the hired assassins for the failed attempt.<\/p>\n
In documents later tendered to court, police revealed when Person 1 was arrested he and the group were in the process of organising a second hit on the Alameddines.<\/p>\n

The files also detail how the murder crew feared retribution and finding new places to live ahead of a second attempt at the Alameddines.<\/p>\n
“Bro the same day we hit [the Alameddine members] they can [hit] us back, like there is no time to celebrate,” Person 2 said in one phone call recorded by police a fortnight after the shooting.<\/p>\n
Person 1 was later sentenced to 23 years in jail, with a non-parole period of 16 years, after pleading guilty to four counts of shooting with intent to murder.<\/p>\n
It was reduced on appeal to 15 years, with a non-parole period of 10 years and six months in August last year.<\/p>\n
Hamze was jailed on a conspiracy to murder charge for 13 years in October last year, but the outcome can only now be revealed after a series of court orders lapsed.<\/p>\n
