Cleveland Guardians second baseman and Australian native Travis Bazzana recorded the first hit of his Major League Baseball career during Saturday’s game against the Athletics.<\/p>\n
Bazzana<\/a>, 23, knocked a clutch bases-loaded two-run single off Hogan Harris in the top of the seventh inning to give the Guardians a 9-5 lead.<\/p>\n He would not only record his first MLB hit in his fourth game, but he would also record his first stolen base right after bringing in the two runs.\u00a0<\/p>\n Bazzana went 0-for-9 with four walks, three strikeouts, and two runs in his first three MLB games heading into Saturday’s matchup.<\/p>\n The former No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft was called up on Monday in place of rookie Juan Brito<\/a>, who was optioned to Triple-A after struggling in his time with the Guardians<\/a> this year<\/p>\n Bazzana was hitting .287 with two home runs and 10 RBI in 24 games for Triple-A Columbus<\/a> this season, posting a fantastic .933 OPS, along with 21 walks, 11 doubles, two triples, and eight stolen bases on 10 attempts.<\/p>\n
