(May 2, 2026) \u2013 For the second-straight day, freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/wsucougars.com\/sports\/mens-golf\/roster\/dylan-boenning\/14566\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"14566\" target=\"_blank\">Dylan Boenning<\/a> led Washington State after finishing his final round at 5-under, 208, during Saturday&#8217;s final round of stroke play at the 2026 West Coast Conference Men&#8217;s Golf Championships, played on the 6,621-yard, par-71 Green Valley Country Club.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nAs a team, the Cougars ended the 54-hole event at 7-over, 859, after a third-round score of 9-over, 293, finishing in ninth place. WSU had entered Saturday tied for sixth but could not climb the leaderboard. First-day leader Pepperdine could not withstand the charge of San Diego, which began the round trailing by two shots, fired an 8-under 276 to claim a four-shot final following stroke play. The top four teams, San Diego (-22), Pepperdine (-18), Augusta (-13) and Oregon State (-12) advance to Sunday&#8217;s match play event to crown the 2026 conference champion.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nBoenning entered the day at 5-under and remained there after an even-par round of 71, which included five birdies. The 5-under, 208, is a 54-hole low for Boenning during his freshman campaign and ties him for fourth overall.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nSenior <a href=\"https:\/\/wsucougars.com\/sports\/mens-golf\/roster\/sam-renner\/13898\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"13898\" target=\"_blank\">Sam Renner<\/a> entered the day at 2-under and got it to 4-under by the turn but found trouble on his back nine with a triple and two doubles, mixed in with three birdies as he finished the round at 4-over, 75, and his 54-hole tournament at 2-over, 215, tied for 23rd overall.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nSophomore <a href=\"https:\/\/wsucougars.com\/sports\/mens-golf\/roster\/garrett-harrison\/13901\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"13901\" target=\"_blank\">Garrett Harrison<\/a> entered the day at even-par and remained there through his first nine holes. On his back nine, four bogeys sandwiched around a birdie left him at 3-over for the round and tournament, tied for 30th overall.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nRedshirt-junior <a href=\"https:\/\/wsucougars.com\/sports\/mens-golf\/roster\/ben-borgida\/13892\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"13892\" target=\"_blank\">Ben Borgida<\/a> entered the day at 5-over and despite making five birdies, finished his round at 2-over, 73, putting him a 7-over for the 54 holes and tied for 46th overall.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nJunior <a href=\"https:\/\/wsucougars.com\/sports\/mens-golf\/roster\/ben-mulder\/14568\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"14568\" target=\"_blank\">Ben Mulder<\/a>, who was inserted into the lineup Saturday in place of <a href=\"https:\/\/wsucougars.com\/sports\/mens-golf\/roster\/dylan-burcham\/13900\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"13900\" target=\"_blank\">Dylan Burcham<\/a>, never got it going as he conclude his round at 8-over, 79. Mulder had a birdie on his front nine and his round was highlighted by an eagle-2 on the par-4 second. \u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Cougars now wait for the NCAA Championship Selection Show, Wednesday, May 6, to determine their postseason fate.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"PULLMAN, Wash.
