A\ufeffs if expectant mothers<\/a> don’t already go through enough. From weight gain to body changes, morning sickness and swelling, there are a lot of things to cope with.<\/p>\n

But \ufeffSophie Habboo<\/a> has revealed a rather unsavoury side effect of her pregnancy.<\/p>\n

The former Made in Chelsea star revealed on her Nearly Parents podcast<\/a> that she co hosts with her husband Jamie Laing, that \ufeffshe’s noticed her teeth are “rotting”<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\ufeff”The best thing about pregnancy is my teeth are rotting,” she joked before clarifying, “It’s not [funny]”.<\/p>\n

Yep, add that to pregnancy side-effects you didn’t know existed. \ufeff<\/p>\n

“I’ve always had thick, white teeth and these are not veneers guys, these are my real teeth,” she continued.<\/p>\n

But now, Habboo says her teeth have become “grey”, “see-through” and “chipped”.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old added that her teeth are so weak that they have begun to chip very easily.<\/p>\n

“I look in the mirror and I can see my tongue behind them, they’re so \ufeffthin, they’re frail,” she added.<\/p>\n

“I don’t understand what’s happening. My teeth are rotting from pregnancy.”<\/p>\n

Laing laughed along as Habboo joked about the unfortunate side-effect.<\/p>\n

Pregnancy is known to increase the risk of certain dental problems.<\/p>\n

According to Queensland Health<\/a>, “Pregnancy hormones can make gums more sensitive to dental plaque and can lead to gum disease and tooth decay”.<\/p>\n

For this reason, dental hygiene and check-ups are highly encouraged for pregnant people.<\/p>\n

Several people commented on a clip from the podcast empathising with \ufeffHabboo and her dental predicament.<\/p>\n

“\ufeffI ended up with seven filling and a root canal when carrying my beautiful daughter… such a joyous time,” one person wrote.<\/p>\n

“After two pregnancies my teeth are ruined mate,” wrote another.<\/p>\n

“I don’t understand how people who have multiple kids have any teeth left,” another commented.<\/p>\n

It’s not just her teeth that are giving Habboo grief either.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the podcast, she revealed that her pregnancy symptoms vary \u2013 one day it will feel like she’s “dying” while another day she will feel completely fine.<\/p>\n

“[Sometimes] it feels like you’re walking through mud, thick, thick quicksand and your legs are sinking beneath you and you can’t get them out, they’re so heavy full of lead,” she explained.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Despite the frustrating pregnancy symptoms, Habboo expressed that she is actually very happy to be pregnant.<\/p>\n

“I’m very grateful, I’m pregnant, it’s fine, we’re having a great time,” she said.<\/p>\n

Habboo and Laing revealed that they are expecting their first child together in June<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They made the announcement with a heartfelt video on Instagram<\/a><\/p>\n

In the video, Habboo underwent a pregnancy ultrasound while the couple gushed over seeing their unborn baby on the screen.<\/p>\n

“You’re kidding me,” Laing said in the video as he filmed his baby on the sonogram.<\/p>\n

“That’s your beautiful little baby,” the sonographer replied.<\/p>\n

They captioned the video with a simple heart emoji as they revealed their exciting news to their combined Instagram following of more than 2 million.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Habboo and Laing became engaged back in 2021 and tied the knot at a wedding in Spain in 2023.<\/p>\n
