Especially yesterday in the wind I played really, really nicely,\u201d Scott, who won win the PGA Tour last went to Doral a decade ago, said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was so disheartened after Friday\u2019s round, my putting was just so bad. I know a lot of guys have struggled with grain and stuff this week. But just felt like I\u2019m playing good and I\u2019m just not getting anything out of it. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo it\u2019s an incredible game because two days later I feel really good about things sitting here talking with you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Adam Scott of Australia walks off the 11th tee during the final round of the Cadillac Championship 2026 at Trump National Doral Miami.Source: Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>No player gained more strokes with their approach play than Scott across the four rounds.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to striking his irons and wedges beautifully, Scott\u2019s short game was also in good order, ranked fifth for strokes gained around the green.<\/p>\n<p>It was once he was on the putting surface that the 2013 Masters champion let himself down.<\/p>\n<p>But some advice from fellow green jacket winner and good friend Trevor Immelman, who spotted an issue with his stroke from the commentary booth, helped him take more opportunities on the greens in the final two rounds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, I mean, I think Trev is as frustrated as me. Thankfully, he cares so much,\u201d Scott said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, he noticed a little something with my left elbow I think for quite awhile that we just haven\u2019t really focused on it. It gave me something to focus on and probably improved my path and face and all the things that you need to do without really having to stress too much about it. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo a few more went in, thank you, Trev. It\u2019s a nice feeling, that\u2019s for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Adam Scott, of Australia, reacts on the 18th hole during the final round of the Cadillac Championship.Source: AP<\/p>\n<p>The performance is also a massive confidence booster ahead of the PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club later this month.<\/p>\n<p>That will be Scott\u2019s 99th straight major appearance.<\/p>\n<p>There had been some concern about whether he will get to a century of consecutive majors with the top 60 in the world rankings after the PGA Championship earning a place at the US Open.<\/p>\n<p>But Scott is tipped to move to 43rd in the world when the rankings update, effectively locking in the milestone at Shinnecock Hills next month.<\/p>\n<p>Now to contend he knows he needs to find greater consistency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo win a major I\u2019m going to need to put four days together, not just a weekend coming from behind,\u201d Scott said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel like my game is there. I\u2019m doing all the things that I think I need to do to be in that kind of condition. Not since 2014 had one player managed three PGA runner-up efforts in a row.<\/p>\n<p>The result came in Scheffler\u2019s final tune-up before defending his PGA Championship title in two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Adam Scott shared fourth with Austrian Sepp Straka, who shot 66, and South Korean Kim Si-woo, who closed with a 70.<\/p>\n<p>After calling the penalty on himself at the second Young hit his approach to 13 feet and sank the clutch par putt to regain momentum.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour heart sinks when you see (the ball) move, but it moved and that\u2019s part of what golf is about,\u201d Young said. \u201cThere\u2019s no one that was going to give me a penalty there but myself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve had about four of those on the PGA Tour now, so I need to start setting the club down a little softer, but it\u2019s just one of those times.
