Others were less charitable, and straight up slammed the star over her appearance.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"poster-img\" src=\"https:\/\/content.api.news\/v3\/images\/bin\/16abd7de0dd728f30a186cf8c38813c3\" data-sctrack=\"op-poster-img\" alt=\"Olivia Wilde addresses 'startling' photos\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Some, however, suggested the entire issue could simply have been caused by a photographer\u2019s fisheye lens showing Wilde at an unflattering angle. <\/p>\n<p>In a<a class=\"body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/oliviawilde\/?hl=en\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> new Instagram story <\/a>overnight, Wilde showed she\u2019s taken the debate over her appearance with good humour \u2013 even after copping some ribbing from her family.<br \/>\u201cLeave it to your little brother to give you the maximum amount of s**t,\u201d she captioned the post, which showed her lounging on a sofa in a hoodie, her brother Charlie behind the camera. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOlivia Wilde, do you care to address recent rumours that you\u2019re a resurrected corpse?\u201d Charlie asked his big sister, as the pair laughed. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cListen! That was a fish eye lens. And I\u2019ll admit \u2013 was that my best angle, was that my best ever look? No. No. It\u2019s startling, it was a startling image,\u201d Wilde explained. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a fish eye lens! I don\u2019t know why I was so close to the camera, I didn\u2019t have to be. That\u2019s not \u2026 the truth. Do you have any more questions?
