BRAD Casey intends to show maturity when he fights in his first six rounder later this month.<\/p>\n
York fighter Casey will be on the undercard of Dave Allen versus Filip Hrgovic on Saturday, May 16, for what will be his first six rounder fight since turning professional in 2025.<\/p>\n

Fighting at Doncaster\u2019s Eco-Power Stadium, it\u2019s a fresh opportunity for 21-year-old to improve his game after an unbeaten start so far, boasting a record of 4-0.<\/p>\n
Casey will therefore be taking his time in the ring and showing a more \u2018relaxed\u2019 side to his game, telling The Press: \u201cIt\u2019s my first six rounder, so a big point is showing my maturity.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t want to rush anything, I want to break them down slowly and I think I\u2019ll show that in my next fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause it\u2019s my first six rounder, I\u2019ve got to stay relaxed in there and not rush into anything, because I\u2019ve got six rounds in there.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can slowly dissect him and break him down.<\/p>\n
\u201cTraining has been class, I\u2019ve had some big weeks of sparring.<\/p>\n
\u201cTraining is going class, it\u2019s just how we want it.<\/p>\n
\u201cEach and every fight, I feel like I\u2019m getting more and more relaxed going into it, I\u2019m more relaxed and I\u2019m just enjoying everything.<\/p>\n

Casey will be hoping to build upon a winning start to 2026, last fighting in January at Newcastle\u2019s Utilita Arena.<\/p>\n
He last fought against Lee Roberts, and was victorious through a points decision in a performance that Casey felt he learned plenty from.<\/p>\n
He was pleased by his opening two rounds, but felt he got \u2018too giddy\u2019 when a strike on Roberts left his opponent wobbled.<\/p>\n
\u201cA solid performance against a good opponent, who had come to win,\u201d Casey reflected.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got a lot of experience gained from it, I was happy with it.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere were a lot of lessons that I could take away from the fight, there were moments where I exerted a lot of energy instead of staying relaxed like I did in the first two rounds.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the third round I caught him, but I got a bit too giddy, and it\u2019s just about learning to stay composed.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat all comes with maturity as I build on every fight.\u201d<\/p>\n
Casey has so far beaten Goran Kozul, Antonio Borovina, Dylan Courtney and Roberts in his professional boxing career, fighting in venues all over the country.<\/p>\n

The chance to fight on the undercard of Allen, who he works closely with at Legion\u2019s Boxing Gym alongside Head Coach Ashley Martin, Casey hopes it can be a chance to get the people of York in his corner.<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cIt\u2019s another massive platform with Dave Allen headlining against Hrgovic, it\u2019ll be some fight that.<\/p>\n
\u201cHopefully it\u2019ll be some turnout as well, it should sell a lot of tickets because it\u2019s a big card, and I\u2019m proud to be on it.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want everyone in York backing each other, and it\u2019s a good thing for us, because since Henry Wharton there hasn\u2019t been many fighters come out of York.<\/p>\n

Head Coach Martin wants Casey to keep building on his experiences, in what will be the young York boxer\u2019s first stadium show.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cIt\u2019s good to have him on a local show, there will be a lot of people from the city coming and watching him.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019ll be his first stadium show and will be massive.<\/p>\n
