It\u2019s time to bid so long and fare thee well to Cowboy Carter<\/a>: Beyonc\u00e9<\/a> has hit the 2026 Met Gala<\/a> red carpet<\/a>, and a new era is upon us. As one of the evening\u2019s co-chairs<\/a>, the reappearance of Beyonc\u00e9 (and her family!<\/a>) on the Met steps has been both long-awaited and much-discussed. Though she\u2019s a seven-time attendee, we haven\u2019t seen her since 2016\u2019s “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tonight<\/a>, there\u2019s not a touch of Americana in sight. Instead, the star\u2019s body-conscious dress starts with skin-tone mesh with an embellished diamond skeleton, right down to her gloves. \u201cIt\u2019s designed by Olivier Rousteing, somebody who has been so loyal to me, and I\u2019ve done so many iconic looks with him,\u201d Beyonc\u00e9 told Lala during the live stream<\/a>. Over the dress, she wears a feathered opera-coat-meets-train that took five people to carry up the stairs.<\/p>\n

Her signature golden hair is crimped and curled to perfection\u2014likely with some extra-long extensions in there, too\u2014and topped off with a sun-shaped crown. (She is the queen, after all.)<\/p>\n

\u201cIt feels surreal, because my daughter is here,” Beyonc\u00e9 says of her return to the Met Gala. \u201cI am excited to experience it through her eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n

She\u2019s also excited by the theme of the night\u2019s event, which celebrates bodies. \u201cJuicy, curvy, thin, [just] celebrating whatever God gave you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hopefully, we will have something else to celebrate tonight, too: Speculation surrounds Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s appearance tonight: Some have suggested<\/a> that her appearance will be the beginning of the long-awaited \u201cAct III,\u201d which is rumored to be a rock album. It started with some out-of-the-ordinary social activity\u2014posts, references to archival clips\u2014and now, the world waits.<\/p>\n

Beyonc\u00e9 loves a surprise\u2014and so do we! We will, of course, be waiting.<\/p>\n
