Pro Football Focus<\/a> has released a new way-too-early 2027 NFL mock draft, and the Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> were predicted to select a quarterback within the top 10.<\/p>\n

In the new mock draft created by PFF’s Daire Carragher, the Steelers<\/a> selected Brendan Sorsby<\/a> with the No. 8 overall pick.<\/p>\n

“There is a strong possibility that four quarterbacks go in the top 10 next season, heightened by the fact that none of the obvious quarterback-needy teams selected Ty Simpson<\/a> this year. Sorsby could be one of several quarterbacks to emerge in 2026, and the Steelers are among the teams in search of a franchise option,” Carragher wrote.<\/a> “Teams will value his decision-making and composure under pressure \u2014 he took just seven sacks on 114 pressures last season at Cincinnati<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

While Sorsby would be a terrific pickup, it’s difficult to imagine the Steelers heavily targeting a quarterback in 2027 over other positional needs, especially when the team is seemingly committed to Will Howard<\/a> and Drew Allar<\/a>‘s development.<\/p>\n
