Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster made their Met Gala debut on Monday evening, while his ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, who is known to be a huge fan of attending the event, was nowhere to be seen. <\/p>\n

Jackman and Foster have left many fans fuming over the decision to attend the glitzy bash together, with some calling it the \u201cfinal blow\u201d to his ex-wife, Furness on social media.<\/p>\n

The couple looked smitten as they posed for pictures, with Foster sporting a huge diamond ring on her finger that\u2019s sparked further speculation that a wedding between the pair could be imminent. <\/p>\n

Jackman and Furness would regularly attend the event together over the years, with their last joint appearance being back in 2023 when they were all smiles on the red carpet. <\/p>\n

A source close to the new couple has revealed that Furness was \u201cwarned\u201d that the pair would be making an appearance together and showing off what\u2019s rumoured to be a giant engagement ring on Foster\u2019s finger. <\/p>\n

\u201cDeb had been warned Hugh would be appearing with Sutton but it still felt like a knife to the heart seeing them there,\u201d an insider told New Idea<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis was her and Hugh\u2019s \u2018big night out\u2019 for the year and they were there side-by-side, just like Sutton is today, just four years ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast year when it looked like Hugh wanted to take Sutton, Deb indicated she might be going but simply couldn\u2019t face it in the end,\u201d the insider shared. <\/p>\n

\u201cPart of her hoped he might have gone solo again, so it adds an extra layer of hurt that Hugh\u2019s so willing to pave over their historic nights out with new memories. \u201cDeb is doing well moving on from what was a deeply hurtful betrayal, but seeing Sutton smiling on the arm of Hugh hurts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans were quick to jump in on social media with their opinions, with many labelling Jackman and Foster\u2019s move \u201cdisrespectful\u201d. <\/p>\n

\u201cThumbs down! It\u2019s forever team Debbie over here!\u201d one person remarked, while a second commented: \u201cNo longer a fan!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI lost big respect for him,\u201d someone else chimed in. <\/p>\n

However, not everyone felt the same way, with other users insisting that it\u2019s time people \u201cget over\u201d Jackman\u2019s split from Furness and \u201cmove on\u201d like he has. <\/p>\n

Jackman and Foster \u2013 who co-starred in the Broadway production The Music Man from 2021 to 2023 \u2013 were first romantically linked in late 2024 before confirming their relationship in January 2025 when they were photographed holding hands on a dinner date in Santa Monica.<\/p>\n

Reports then emerged the following January claiming that Jackman had proposed and the pair were well underway planning their wedding<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Hugh\u2019s] told his team to keep a big window open for him and Sutton to tie the knot and have a honeymoon tour of Europe, where they can see his mum,\u201d an insider claimed at the time.<\/p>\n

The source added that the couple were planning a small, \u201cintimate\u201d ceremony in New York during spring or summer for their \u201ctheatre pals\u201d. There\u2019s no indication as to whether any of Jackman\u2019s close family would be in attendance.<\/p>\n

\u201cHugh and Sutton are full of excitement about all the next steps that they can finally take,\u201d another source said.<\/p>\n
