Before the performance of a pair of songs\u2014\u201cWindow\u201d and \u201cCaught in the Echo\u201d\u2014Dave Grohl joined Colbert to discuss the end of <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/artists\/3046-nirvana\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nirvana<\/a>, the origins of Foo Fighters\u2019 31-year career, and the advice he would give to daughter Violet Grohl, whom he has helped springboard into a career as a rock-pop star. Watch it go down below.<\/p>\n<p>Grohl went on to share anecdotes about the latest Foos album, the <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/reviews\/albums\/foo-fighters-but-here-we-are\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">But Here We Are<\/a> follow-up <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/reviews\/albums\/foo-fighters-your-favorite-toy\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Your Favorite Toy<\/a>, which he helped promote on a day off by hiding CDs with a bunch of unreleased music around the San Fernando Valley area.
