As a self-confessed, lifelong Triple M listener, Rohan Lund\u2019s appointment as Managing Director and CEO of SCA was a serendipitous one.<\/p>\n
Yesterday, the former NRMA boss was in his element, working from SCA\u2019s Sydney headquarters, chatting with the Triple M Breakfast team of Beau, Cat & Woodsy.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat struck me was how seamlessly our radio announcers understand and connect with audiences in real time,\u201d Lund observed on LinkedIn.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is such a gift knowing exactly what listeners need in the moment, whether it\u2019s leaning into a serious conversation that matters, or being completely spontaneous and irreverent bringing a much needed laugh.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThat is the real power of being live.\u201d<\/p>\n
Heading up a newly-merged media entity combining SCA\u2019S Triple M and Hit radio networks \u2013 plus its LiSTNR platform \u2013 with the Seven Network and West Australian Newspapers, Lund knows he has his work cut out.<\/p>\n
He\u2019s the first to admit transformation isn\u2019t easy.<\/p>\n
In his previous CEO role at NRMA, Lund says he learnt mostly from those he was meant to be leading.<\/p>\n
The biggest lesson? Culture is everything.<\/p>\n
As the SCA merger continues to take shape \u2013 rolling out across radio, digital, TV and publishing \u2013 Lund is drawing on the media experience gleaned from his previous senior roles at Foxtel, Seven and Yahoo!7.<\/p>\n
