Toprak Razgatlioglu faces a brand-new challenge at this weekend\u2019s French MotoGP.<\/p>\n
The reigning WorldSBK<\/a> champion has never raced at the famous Le Mans circuit but, after a tough weekend on familiar asphalt at Jerez, the Pramac Yamaha<\/a> rider approaches the event \u201cmore excited than concerned\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cFinally, I get to race in Le Mans, and I\u2018m really happy about it,\u201d Razgatlioglu<\/a> said. \u201cIt\u2018s a legendary circuit that I\u2018ve only watched until now, so it\u2018s exciting to experience it for the first time.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m more excited than concerned. Of course, it\u2018s a new track and another thing to learn, but at the same time I see it as an opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n Razgatlioglu admitted it was tricky to forget his former Superbike technique at Jerez but will be \u201cstarting from zero\u201d at Le Mans, as he seeks a repeat of his point scoring performance at COTA.<\/p>\n Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n \u201cOn the circuits we\u2018ve raced at so far, I naturally went back to my Superbike riding style because they were familiar to me – it almost came instinctively,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n \u201cHere, starting from zero, I\u2018m hoping to approach the track with the right mindset from the beginning and focus fully on adapting to the MotoGP riding style.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2018s something I\u2018ve been working on a lot, and this could be a good opportunity to make another step in that direction.\u201d<\/p>\n Razgatlioglu completed the Jerez weekend with 20th place in the Monday test, while team-mate Jack Miller<\/a> appeared to make greater progress on his way to 16th.<\/p>\n
