\"Palak Palak Tiwari<\/a>, daughter of Shweta Tiwari<\/a> and Raja Chaudhary<\/a>, recently spoke about her childhood and said the absence of her father never felt like a void, crediting the strong women in her family for her upbringing.Speaking to Yuvaa, Palak said, \u201cIt never really bothered me. A child is like a sponge… you reflect whatever your parents show you. It never felt like something was missing.\u201dShe added that she grew up in a full, loving household. \u201cI had my nani, my mom, my family… it was a full house. I have never felt deprived of anything in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

‘My mom never said be a good girl’<\/p>\n

Palak also spoke about how she was never raised with the pressure of being a \u201cgood girl.\u201d\u201cMy mom has never ever looked at me and said be a good girl. It\u2019s always been be happy. Whatever makes me happy is what she is happy with,\u201d she said.\u201cI think there is a reason why girls are called \u2018good\u2019 and women are called \u2018strong\u2019. I\u2019d rather be a happy woman than a good girl. Good is subjective anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n

‘We were always a women-first household’<\/p>\n

She credited the strong women in her family for shaping her mindset.\u201cMy mom raising me and my nani raising her… we were always ahead when it came to women empowerment. We were always a women-first household,\u201d she said.\u201cYou can be good to your family, you can be good to yourself, but you can\u2019t just be \u2018good\u2019 period. What does that even mean?\u201d <\/p>\n

Close bond with nani<\/p>\n

Palak also opened up about her close relationship with her grandmother.\u201cWhen I was young, my mom was shooting and television hours are very gruelling. So it was often that my nani was at home and she raised me completely. My nani taught me everything. I am a lot like her,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

‘My mom never let anyone be disrespectful’<\/p>\n

Recalling a childhood incident, Palak said her mother always protected her.\u201cMy mom never let anyone be disrespectful to me. Someone once said I don\u2019t have a dad at home.
