Angelo Leo plans to make another statement this weekend. However, he already has one eye on the future.<\/p>\n

Leo returns to the ring on Saturday, May 9<\/a>, at the Gateway Center Arena in Atlanta. He will defend his IBF featherweight title against Ra\u2019eese Aleem live on DAZN.<\/p>\n

At the same time, talk continues to grow about a future clash with Naoya Inoue. The pound-for-pound star could move up to the featherweight division soon. If that happens, Leo believes many people are overlooking the dangers waiting for Inoue.<\/p>\n

Recently, Leo studied Inoue\u2019s latest fight against Junto Nakatani. While he praised Inoue\u2019s performance, he also noticed openings.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe looked good. He looked sharp in there,\u201d\u00a0Leo told Brunch Boxing<\/a>. \u201cI did see that Nakatani was tagging him a few times and won some rounds.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even so, Leo understands the challenge Inoue presents.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s definitely vulnerable, but it\u2019s going to be a tough task ahead,\u201d Leo said. \u201cWe\u2019d have to be really on our P\u2019s and Q\u2019s for that fight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leo stressed the importance of preparation and strategy. He believes success against elite fighters comes from careful planning.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the whole thing about game planning,\u201d Leo explained. \u201cFinding their strengths and weaknesses and then capitalizing on it.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also admitted that watching film only reveals so much.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, it\u2019s different when you\u2019re watching from the outside until you\u2019re actually in there,\u201d Leo continued. \u201cBut we try our best to do what we got to do and kind of visualize everything when it happens.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leo saved his strongest comments for those expecting Inoue to dominate featherweight immediately.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, they got another thing coming for them,\u201d Leo warned. \u201cThe featherweight division is a tough division. We hit harder in this division.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then, Angelo Leo delivered an even more direct message.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just a different beast,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m a different beast and I will prove that sooner or later.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before any mega fight discussions become reality, Leo must handle business against Aleem. The challenger enters the bout riding a three-fight win streak. Meanwhile, Leo will make the second defense of his IBF featherweight championship.<\/p>\n
