Robbo\u2019s Roosters warning; triumph for icon in running for NSW gig<\/a><\/p>\nOn Thursday, Roosters coach Trent Robinson personally responded to reports that Leniu was headed for the door mid-contract, categorically telling press the star forward wasn\u2019t going anywhere following \u201cdisappointing\u201d speculation. <\/p>\n
\u201cIf anything it\u2019s probably just simplifying it and acknowledging that you\u2019ve got quality players in Naufahu [Whyte] and Lindsay [Collins] that play long minutes,\u201d Waerea-Hargreaves said of Leniu\u2019s limited minutes. <\/p>\n
Robinson said Leniu hadn\u2019t spoken to any parties outside of the Roosters. He confirmed conversations between the two in recent weeks about more game time for the Origin prop as he ponders a potential recall in Laurie Daley\u2019s game one side. <\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s definitely wants more minutes and we\u2019ve had those conversations,\u201d Robinson said. <\/p>\n
\u201cHe gets his opportunity to go out there and play there this weekend. We really value the way that he plays and that opportunity is right there in front of him. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s disappointing, a bit of the commentary around it, but we can\u2019t handle that. That\u2019s the interest when somebody doesn\u2019t play as much time as what they want.\u201d<\/p>\n
Asked whether Leniu will see out his contract at the Roosters, Robinson said: \u201cOf course he will. <\/p>\n
\u201cYou\u2019ve got to be careful that people don\u2019t buy into those sort of conversations too much. Just because one person says it doesn\u2019t mean it\u2019s true. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe know where we\u2019re at. Between Spenny and I, and the club and his management, we\u2019ll keep rolling on as we do.\u201d <\/p>\n
Robinson has made a number of injury-related changes for tonight\u2019s Titans clash. <\/p>\n
