Aussie allrounder Mitch Marsh<\/a> has made his mark on the 2026 IPL tournament after blasting 111 off 56 balls to help the Lucknow Super Giants to a huge win. Marsh was near unstoppable against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru attack on Thursday even through his innings came to a halt on three seperate occasions due to rain.<\/p>\n

But it didn\u2019t stop his momentum out in the middle with the Aussie cricket<\/a> star blasting nine sixes and nine fours as he delivered for the home fans at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium. Cooper Connolly was the first Aussie to crack a century in this year\u2019s competition, but it didn\u2019t take long for Marsh to follow in his footsteps. And he did it in style.<\/p>\n

Marsh helped his side reach 3-209 off 19 overs after the rain shortened the innings. Rishabh Pant helped Marsh boost the total with 32 off 10 in the final over with some outrageous shot-making.<\/p>\n

And the Indian superstar was full of praise for his Aussie Lucknow teammate after the high total. “Unbelievable … amazing batting from Mitch,” Pant said after the match.<\/p>\n

Marsh was particularly keen to take on fellow national teammate Josh Hazlewood in the first few overs. The Aussie bowler was punished for 49 off his four overs. However, he did finally get Marsh after coming back on to bowl. The allrounder blasted the ball to deep point, which ended his innings on 111.<\/p>\n

Marsh reached his second IPL century off 49 balls and even took Hazlewood for 27. Fans were stunned at Marsh\u2019s innings with the Aussies starting to find form in the IPL with his team struggling in the tournament.<\/p>\n

Mitch Marsh praises turnaround from Super Giants<\/p>\n

Speaking after the game, Marsh admitted it was nice to give his team something to cheer about with the Lucknow Giants struggling in 2026. Marsh\u2019s century came against the Challengers coached by Aussie great Justin Langer.<\/p>\n

“It has been a tough season, so it’s nice to get on the right side of one. It’s been a disappointing season until today,” said the 34-year-old. “But this is really good for morale and there’s still a lot for us to play for.”<\/p>\n

Fellow Aussie Tim David made it a tough finish for Lucknow having smashed three sixes and four fours to give the Challengers a chance. Lucknow were looking at a seventh defeat in a row. Unfortunately for the Challengers, the team fell nine runs short in the final over thanks to the DLS. The Challengers still sit in third, while the Giants are in last place.<\/p>\n
