{"id":658284,"date":"2026-05-08T18:58:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T18:58:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/658284\/"},"modified":"2026-05-08T18:58:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T18:58:09","slug":"kansas-incoming-duo-to-participate-in-usa-basketball-u18-training-camp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/658284\/","title":{"rendered":"Kansas Incoming Duo to Participate in USA Basketball U18 Training Camp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAWRENCE, Kan. \u2014\u00a0Kansas men&#8217;s basketball incoming freshmen Davion Adkins and Taylen Kinney will participate in the upcoming 2026 USA Basketball Men&#8217;s U18 National Team training camp at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nTraining camp begins Thursday, May 21, with the 12-member team expected to be announced before the team departs for the 2026 FIBA U18 Men&#8217;s AmeriCup, scheduled for June 1-7 in Leon, Mexico.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nAdkins (6-foot-9) competed at Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 2025-26, where his team posted a 38-4 record. The Arlington, Texas, native who has a 7-foot-2 wingspan, was the top-rated player in Texas before announcing his plans to play at Prolific Prep.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nKinney (6-foot-2) was a 2026 McDonald&#8217;s All-American who competed for RWE in the Overtime Elite program in Atlanta. Last season he averaged 18.8 points, 6.1 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per contest.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nAdkins and Kinney have participated in USA Basketball minicamps before being selected for the upcoming camp. In 2024 and 2025 both attended minicamps for the USA Men&#8217;s Junior National Team. Also, in 2024 both took part in the Men&#8217;s U17 National Team minicamp.
