Confusion reigned after Moses’ kick as he argued with referee Liam Kennedy that the game should’ve immediately ended.

It mattered not in the end, as Ronald Volkman slotted the conversion and the Eels clinched victory, but Moses wasn’t happy straight after the foul call.

“The game’s over, we don’t want the penalty,” Moses said.

“It’s f***ing bulls**t. We’ve won the game.”

Kennedy responded: “That’s the rules of the game, mate. Now it’s an extra two points.”

The NRL said Kennedy officiated the play correctly under the rules.

“The penalty after the field goal was the correct decision,” NRL head of football Graham Annesley said.

“The fouled team is entitled to the additional penalty given there had been an act of foul play.

“It’s important to note had the kick missed or hit the upright the game would have been over. The laws specifically say play does not continue after the kick.”

Talk about crazy scenes in Townsville.
