For Free and confidential support call 1800 858 858 or visit gamblinghelponline.org.au.<\/p>\n In the wake of Brisbane\u2019s whiteboard scandal \u2013 where their judgments of Essendon players\u2019 strengths and weaknesses were shared on social media \u2013 the Giants cheer squad published their own assessments.<\/p>\n Under the headline \u201cEssendon\u201d, there was nothing listed for \u201cstrengths\u201d, while the \u201cweaknesses\u201d column just had the words \u201c7916 days\u201d \u2013 in reference to the Bombers\u2019 days since winning a final.<\/p>\n Scott was asked about the Giants\u2019 banner in his post-game press conference \u2013 and didn\u2019t seem too impressed by it.<\/p>\n \u201cI did catch it out of the corner of my eye,\u201d he told reporters.<\/p>\n \u201cI mean the Giants are pretty desperate for some relevance in the competition, to try and build their fanbase.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m such a strong proponent of building our game in the northern states, in western Sydney and on the Gold Coast. I think that\u2019s really important for the AFL.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m reluctant to comment on other clubs. But the bright lights and allure of their second win of the season proved too much to bear, as the Giants gradually wore them down, hitting the front midway through the fourth when Harry Himmelberg kicked across his body.<\/p>\n Brent Daniels scored his second goal of the evening just moments later, with GWS powering to the finish line to record a gutsy 16.7 (103) to 13.11 (89) victory. <\/p>\n \u201cWe gave ourselves every opportunity to be in the game and to get the job done,\u201d Scott said. \u201cWe just couldn\u2019t quite execute. We\u2019re pushing every week to deliver that,\u201d Scott said.<\/p>\n \u201cBut we\u2019ve been very, very clear in the last three years that we want to build our team and bring in the right players. We\u2019re impatient, like all of our fans are, but we want to make sure we\u2019re building a solid foundation.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you don\u2019t win, be really disappointed and frustrated. But it\u2019s when you can\u2019t see the future and can\u2019t see the hope \u2026 you lose faith.<\/p>\n \u201cEven last week, it was a disappointing performance but there were some passages of play where our players are linking up together.<\/p>\n Essendon give up a gift against GWS | 00:32<\/p>\n \u201cWe just need to continue to provide some support. But we\u2019ve built a stable base as a list and as a club, and we have absolute faith that we can build on that base now.\u201d<\/p>\n To make matters worse for Essendon, Dylan Sharp came from the field late in the quarter and failed to return with a shoulder injury.<\/p>\n \u201cHe thinks he\u2019ll play next week, I don\u2019t think that\u2019s right. That\u2019s just the way he is,\u201d Scott said.<\/p>\n \u201cHe landed on his elbow and we\u2019ll get it scanned.
