{"id":660238,"date":"2026-05-09T17:37:25","date_gmt":"2026-05-09T17:37:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/660238\/"},"modified":"2026-05-09T17:37:25","modified_gmt":"2026-05-09T17:37:25","slug":"bec-judd-reveals-all-about-chaotic-parenting-as-the-mum-of-four-celebrates-mothers-day-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/660238\/","title":{"rendered":"Bec Judd reveals all about \u2018chaotic\u2019 parenting as the mum of four celebrates Mother\u2019s Day 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Through the rose-coloured lens of social media, Bec Judd looks like she has it all.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">But behind the scenes she admits motherhood is \u201cchaotic\u201d and far from the polished image many expect.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">The Crown ambassador and wife of West Coast Eagles legend Chris Judd sat down with PerthNow ahead of Mother\u2019s Day and left no stone unturned when divulging the reality of juggling four kids and a thriving career.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cEvery day there\u2019s something \u2014 someone\u2019s in a bad mood, something\u2019s broken, someone\u2019s forgotten something \u2026 there\u2019s always a bit of chaos,\u201d she laughed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Judd has a \u201croll with the punches\u201d approach: \u201cYou can\u2019t dwell on things that have happened, you can\u2019t change it so problem solve and move forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cThere\u2019s a massive sense of responsibility (as a parent) \u2026 how they grow into adults is really influenced by us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">The Judds were thrown into parenthood in 2011 with their first born, Oscar, followed by daughter Billie in 2014 and identical boy twins Tom and Darcy in 2016 \u2014 the latter of which were on a school camp at the time of the PerthNow photo shoot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">With her eldest edging towards adulthood and her youngest firmly in the \u201ctween energy\u201d years, Judd said the intensity of early motherhood has shifted.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cI\u2019ve been a mum for almost 15 years now, so it\u2019s nice for them to get some independence,\u201d she said. \u201cYou\u2019re not as hands-on \u2026 you can kind of sit back and watch them grow into young adults.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">But that doesn\u2019t mean life has slowed down for the Melbourne-based family.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Afternoons in the Judd household are a high-speed relay of school pick-ups, sports training and sibling rivalries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cFrom 3.30pm until 7.30pm, we\u2019re just in the car going from one thing to the next,\u201d she revealed. \u201cBut I love it. Credit: Instagram<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cThis is what happens when two competitive people have kids,\u201d she said. \u201cThere are fights because someone always loses. But it\u2019s so much fun.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">It seems the couple have struck their perfect parenting routine. Chris, an early riser, is up every day at the crack of dawn preparing the kids\u2019 breakfasts and school lunches before she takes the whirlwind afternoon shift.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cI\u2019m lucky. At 7am I wake to the sound of my husband placing a cup of coffee next to our bed,\u201d she said, joking Chris has \u201clived a life\u201d before her eyes have even opened.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Their weekends are equally as jam-packed. From rushing between cricket fields and netball courts, there\u2019s nothing the self-confessed sports mum enjoys more than to watch her offspring from the sidelines.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cI think my biggest pressure of having such a big family is giving them the attention that they need. When everyone\u2019s fighting for it at the same time &#8230; I have four people saying \u2018Mum, where\u2019s this? Mum, I need this. Mum, look at my certificate. Mum, I did this great thing\u2019. You\u2019re kind of just scratching the surface and there\u2019s not a lot of time to go really deep,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cI find that my best moments with the kids is when I have them one-on-one, often in the car driving to a sport game. Oscar and I have our best chats driving to cricket training.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">It\u2019s those quiet windows of connection she values most, carving out time where she can amid the noise of everyday life in a busy household.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">And like many parents, Judd admits navigating technology is one of the toughest parts of raising kids today. Credit: Jackson Flindell\/The West Australian<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cIt\u2019s really hard to navigate and to stop them from accessing screens and apps sometimes,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cWe hide tech in our house &#8230; we hide remotes, hide iPads and the big kids are good, they\u2019re not on social media apps but it\u2019s interesting, because most of their friends, like the whole year group, they\u2019re all on the social apps.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Social media is notably a huge part of Judd\u2019s life with nearly 750,000 followers on Instagram. Alongside content creating and sponsored posts in the social realm, Judd is the co-founder of activewear brand Jaggad and co-host of the Vain-ish podcast with Jessie Roberts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">On the \u201cbrutally honest\u201d LiSTNR podcast, Judd and Roberts pull back the curtain on beauty standards depicted online with experts, doctors and celebrity guests weighing in, alongside quintessential girly chit-chat.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">It shot straight to the top of the Australian podcast charts within 24 hours of its launch in July 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">On a recent episode, Judd was candid about her experience at Coachella last month and its \u201cbio-hazard\u201d toilets which she referred to as \u201cthe most disgusting portaloos I have ever seen in my life\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Judd told the PerthNow she\u2019s enjoyed various artists\u2019 sets, including Fat Boy Slim, David Guetta and Justin Bieber &#8230; once they figured out what he was doing with the laptop on stage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Chris attended Coachella last year but skipped out this time around to instead take their children to Byron Bay on the school holidays.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/5748d5720414cba352df8971e9edc46b568c4194.jpg\" alt=\"Bec and Chris Judd with their kids.\" class=\"css-16r7l45-StyledImage en5ut4d0\"\/>Camera IconBec and Chris Judd with their kids. Credit: Instagram<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Perhaps most striking is Judd\u2019s honesty about the early days of parenting \u2014 a time she believes is often misrepresented.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cI think people expect it to be love and rainbows straight away,\u201d she said. \u201cBut it might not be like that.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cYou might be sore, sleep-deprived, and it might take a while to bond \u2014 and that\u2019s OK. I wrote about this in my book (The Baby Bible) because it took Oscar and I a while to really get our groove, and I wasn\u2019t expecting that. I was the first in our (friend) group to have a baby.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">It\u2019s a message she now shares openly with first-time mothers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cWhen I tell my friends that, they say, \u2018Thank you \u2014 no one\u2019s ever said that to us\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">As for Mother\u2019s Day itself, she doesn\u2019t want anything extravagant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cIt\u2019ll be football games all day and then a nice lunch,\u201d she says. \u201cThat\u2019s my perfect Mother\u2019s Day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">In a life that often looks polished from the outside, it\u2019s a refreshingly simple answer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Through the rose-coloured lens of social media, Bec Judd looks like she has it all.
