Emma Raducanu may have played exceptional tennis against Aryna Sabalenka at the Cincinnati Open, but some fans weren’t happy about a request she made on the court.<\/p>\n

During the third set of action, Raducanu expressed her frustration over a baby crying in the crowd. She told the chair umpire that she’s been listening to the baby cry for “10 minutes.” The umpire then asked, “Do you want me to send the child out of the stadium?” Some fans in the stands answered that question for Raducanu.<\/p>\n

While it’s unclear if the fan left the stadium, Raducanu’s interaction with the umpire generated a ton of clicks online. There were plenty of people siding with the 2021 US Open champion.<\/p>\n

On the flip side, some social media users called Raducanu “disgraceful” for her behavior on the court.<\/p>\n

“Disgraceful behavior from the diva @EmmaRaducanu,” Mathias Degardin wrote on X. “She is known to be one of the biggest diva on court. It’s been confirmed with many of my friends who were sparring partner with her; super arrogant and disrespectful. You are not loosing because of a baby crying in the stand, you are losing because you are worst than @SabalenkaA.”<\/p>\n

“Tennis players are the real babies,” one fan commented.<\/p>\n

“I don\u2019t see an issue with a baby or child at a sport event. If you can\u2019t perform with noise or chaos around you, news flash\u2026. You\u2019re not that good of a player. One baby crying off in the distance shouldn\u2019t impact a professional athlete that much. Tennis players are dramatic,” a second fan added.<\/p>\n

Another person wrote, “So let me get this straight. @EmmaRaducanu is a professional, but can\u2019t tune out a babies noise?”<\/p>\n

Sabalenka ultimately defeated Raducanu in an absolute thriller, 7-6, 4-6, 7-6.<\/p>\n

“As I said at Wimbledon I am really happy to see her healthy – mentally and physically,” Sabalenka said in regards to Raducanu’s form. “Every time she is improving and I can see she is getting back to her best. I’m enjoying fighting against her – she is such an incredible player.”<\/p>\n

Hopefully, we’ll get to see Raducanu and Sabalenka square off at the US Open – without hearing a crying baby mid-match.<\/p>\n
