{"id":66270,"date":"2025-08-13T23:47:08","date_gmt":"2025-08-13T23:47:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/66270\/"},"modified":"2025-08-13T23:47:08","modified_gmt":"2025-08-13T23:47:08","slug":"simon-jordan-savages-michail-antonio-for-west-ham-dig-as-wait-goes-on-for-farewell-message","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/66270\/","title":{"rendered":"Simon Jordan savages Michail Antonio for West Ham dig as wait goes on for farewell message"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Pundit Simon Jordan has ripped into Michail Antonio for his swipe at West Ham with Hammers fans still waiting for a farewell message from their long-serving striker.<\/p>\n<p>There is a sour taste being left in the mouth following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hammers.news\/tag\/michail-antonio\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Michail Antonio\u2019s<\/a> departure from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hammers.news\/club\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">West Ham<\/a> after 10 memorable years.<\/p>\n<p>It has now been almost one full week since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whufc.com\/news\/club-statement-michail-antonio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">West Ham officially announced Antonio\u2019s departure<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Yet the 35-year-old striker is yet to send a parting message to the club\u2019s fans after a decade playing in the claret and blue.<\/p>\n<p>Players who have served the club over long spells almost always send a goodbye message via the club\u2019s website, a video or social media.<\/p>\n<p>Wait goes on for Antonio\u2019s farewell message to West Ham<\/p>\n<p>At the time of writing, one week after his exit was officially confirmed \u2013 and even longer since Graham Potter confirmed it himself days before \u2013 there has been nothing of the sort from Antonio.<\/p>\n<p>It comes after he snubbed the offer of a short-term pay-as-you-play deal to remain in east London for another year.<\/p>\n<p>West Ham went out and signed Antonio\u2019s friend \u2013 the ageing, injury-prone Callum Wilson \u2013 as his replacement and handed him the Jamaican\u2019s number nine shirt on the same day his departure was confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>Whether that, or the fact West Ham would not give him a new deal after his horror car smash, has Antonio in a sulk remains to be seen.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the forward is gathering his thoughts and emotions to find the right words to say goodbye to West Ham.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/GettyImages-1142613289-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"West Ham majority owner David Sullivan spotted watching the women's team in the FA Cup semi-final in 2019.\" class=\"wp-image-249843\" \/>Photo by James Chance\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>However, he has had some words for the club\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hammers.news\/club\/owner\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">owners<\/a> \u2013 headed up by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hammers.news\/tag\/david-sullivan\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">David Sullivan<\/a>. If a player is doing his job and doing it brilliantly, very rarely does a club have a difficulty with them.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018West Ham didn\u2019t crash Antonio\u2019s car, he did\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen Michail Antonio comes out and trots out that load of old rubbish, it tells me what kind of person he is and I\u2019m disappointed by it because I think he\u2019s better than that.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe had a very good run at West Ham, there were times I understood where he wanted to leave West Ham because there were certain circumstances in his life where he needed more money and he was trying to engineer moves out of the door.
