{"id":664007,"date":"2026-05-11T14:29:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-11T14:29:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/664007\/"},"modified":"2026-05-11T14:29:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T14:29:08","slug":"honda-targeting-davide-brivio-for-motogp-role","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/664007\/","title":{"rendered":"Honda targeting Davide Brivio for MotoGP role?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Is Trackhouse MotoGP team principal Davide Brivio considering a \u2018factory\u2019 return for 2027?<\/p>\n<p>According to Sky Italia, Brivio is in talks with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/teams\/repsol-honda-team\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Honda <\/a>over a senior consultancy role, with Alberto Puig remaining as HRC team manager and Brivio \u2018focussing on strategic vision and overall organisation\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Sky report by Rosario Triolo adds: \u2018Arriving at HRC, Brivio will find himself with decisions already made, both sportingly regarding riders and technically regarding the development direction of the 850cc project.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018However, Honda has nevertheless determined that it needs a role model like him to return to winning ways.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>If the move materialises, it would be Brivio\u2019s fourth different <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MotoGP<\/a> manufacturer.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>The Italian guided<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/1999\/valentino-rossi\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Valentino Rossi <\/a>to four titles at Yamaha then oversaw Suzuki\u2019s premier-class return.<\/p>\n<p>After Joan Mir\u2019s 2020 title victory, Brivio spent several seasons in F1 before returning to MotoGP with the new Trackhouse satellite-Aprilia project for 2024.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/teams\/trackhouse-motogp-team\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Trackhouse<\/a> took its first victory with Raul Fernandez at Phillip Island last season.<\/p>\n<p>Subscribe to our MotoGP Newsletter<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Is Trackhouse MotoGP team principal Davide Brivio considering a \u2018factory\u2019 return for 2027?
