{"id":665633,"date":"2026-05-12T08:36:13","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T08:36:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/665633\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T08:36:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T08:36:13","slug":"tupac-shakur-estate-accused-of-owing-producer-all-eyez-on-me-royalties","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/665633\/","title":{"rendered":"Tupac Shakur Estate Accused of Owing Producer All Eyez on Me\u00a0Royalties"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Daz Dillinger is accusing the late rapper&#8217;s estate of owing him money stemming from more than a dozen songs<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tA lawsuit has been filed against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/tupac-shakur\/\" id=\"auto-tag_tupac-shakur\" data-tag=\"tupac-shakur\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tupac Shakur<\/a>\u2019s estate by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/death-row-records\/\" id=\"auto-tag_death-row-records\" data-tag=\"death-row-records\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Death Row Records<\/a> producer Daz Dillinger, born Delmar Arnaud, who is claiming it owes him unpaid royalties from more than a dozen songs he co-wrote and produced. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn a May 8 filing obtained by <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/tupac-shakur-estate-lawsuit-all-eyez-on-me-song-royalties\/\">Billboard<\/a>, the songs under question include five tracks from Shakur\u2019s final album released during his lifetime, All Eyez on Me, including \u201cAmbitionz az a Ridah,\u201d \u201cSkandalouz,\u201d \u201cGot My Mind Made Up,\u201d \u201c2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted,\u201d and \u201cI Ain\u2019t Mad at Cha.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn the complaint, Arnaud claims that after he requested royalties in 2024, he was paid $91,000 by Amaru Entertainment, the company that manages Shakur\u2019s music assets, but was not given any royalty statements to validate the amount.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tA lawyer for Arnaud declined to comment to Rolling Stone. In a statement to Billboard, an attorney for Arnaud, Bret Lewis, argued that, \u201cAt a minimum, Amaru has failed to render statements and\/or pay sums due within the applicable limitations periods and continuing to the present.\u201d He added, \u201cThe precise amount owed will be shown according to proof after an accounting and discovery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tA rep for Shakur\u2019s estate did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone\u2018s request for comment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn 2001, the late Afeni Shakur, Tupac\u2019s mother and co-administrator of his estate, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/music-news\/tupacs-mom-sues-dillinger-78519\/\">sued<\/a> Arnaud for copyright-infringement and claimed he was planning to release, without permission from the estate, master recordings by Shakur that Arnaud produced while working for Death Row Records.
