McGregor is likely to return this summer<\/a>, but his opponent hasn\u2019t been announced. Many fans wanted McGregor\u2019s return fight to be against Diaz, as the two had a legendary rivalry for years, and they haven\u2019t settled their trilogy yet.<\/p>\n However, Diaz is set to return to MMA on Saturday on the MVP card on Netflix as he will take on Mike Perry. According to Diaz, that was the plan as he didn\u2019t want to be McGregor\u2019s return fight.<\/p>\n \u201cI know that (the UFC) wanted the Conor fight right now\u2026 and I\u2019m like, I\u2019m not trying to be a comeback story for Conor. I want Conor back, and then I want him to be fucking showing people he\u2019s whipping ass. Then that\u2019s the guy I want. I don\u2019t wanna be fighting a guy that they don\u2019t know about, because I know he\u2019s gonna come back and do good. I don\u2019t need him to do it on me,\u201d Diaz said<\/a> to Ariel Helwani.<\/p>\n Diaz not wanting the McGregor fight, as the Irishman\u2019s comeback is interesting, but it does not make sense. If McGregor does return and looks impressive, the trilogy with Diaz still is a big fight.
