(ABC News: Luke Bowden)<\/p>\n<p>Labor&#8217;s change of approach<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">It was a change of approach for Mr Winter and Labor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">After the last state election, then-Labor leader Rebecca White left the door open to negotiating with the crossbench for government, before that was quashed the next day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">After the no-confidence motion in Mr Rockliff last month, Mr Winter repeatedly ruled out forming government with the Greens due to what he described as irreconcilable differences.<\/p>\n<p>Loading&#8230;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">In her speech, Tasmanian Greens leader Rosalie Woodruff said she was open to discussions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;Tasmanians have chosen the next parliament, this conversation needs to be had,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;Representing our communities is not a game. (ABC News: Sandy Powell)<\/p>\n<p>Progressive crossbench could force changes<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">The crossbench presents a number of challenges for the Liberals and Labor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Eight out of 10 are strongly opposed to the proposed Macquarie Point stadium, and the SFF has previously stated its opposition.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2025-07-19\/tas-election-result-peter-george-wins-seat-on-crossbench\/105550930\" data-component=\"FullBleedLink\" class=\"RelatedCard_link__rsgR9 FullBleedLink_root__lTw_U interactive_focusContext__yRhc_ interactive_defaults__AKxUU FullBleedLink_showVisited__g3Xvz\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Peter George joins Tasmania&#8217;s progressive crossbench<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography_base__sj2RP RelatedCard_synopsis__cFwMW Typography_sizeMobile14__u7TGe Typography_lineHeightMobile20___U7Vr Typography_regular__WeIG6 Typography_colourInherit__dfnUx\" data-component=\"Typography\">Anti-salmon farm campaigner Peter George is set to join the Tasmanian parliament in what could be a 10-member crossbench.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Eight have also voiced significant concerns about native forest logging and salmon farming.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">Mr O&#8217;Byrne aligns with the major parties on these issues, and said independents should not come with a list of demands.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;I think that becomes transactional,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_paragraph__iYReA\">&#8220;If you have a list of 10 issues that you want to prosecute, what happens if those 10 issues are resolved?
