Man, it’s hard to believe it’s been 25 years since go-getting fashionista Elle Woods charmed her way into Harvard – and our hearts – in the epochal romantic comedy, Legally Blonde. But it has been, and now here comes a prequel series to tell the tale of our heroine’s high school days, back before she got all lawed up.

When is Elle season 1 being released in Australia?

Elle season 1 is streaming in Australia exclusively on Prime Video from July 1, 2026.

What is Elle season 1 about?

We find ourselves in rainy old Seattle, Washington, in the 1990s, when Elle Woods is a fresh arrival, having decamped from glitzy Bel Air with her family after her father takes a new job. Thrust into a new school, Elle must navigate a tricky new social scene, grapple with forbidden romance, and generally deal with all the problems you find in teenage rom-coms. At a guess, she has to get her head around the burgeoning grunge scene, too. It’d certainly be a missed opportunity if they didn’t pack the soundtrack with period bangers.

The cast of Elle season 1

Lexi Minetree is Elle Woods; June Diane Raphael is Eva Woods, Elle’s mother; Tom Everett Scott is Wyatt Woods, Elle’s father; Chandler Kinney is Kimberly; Jacob Moskovitz is Miles; Gabrielle Policano is Liz; and Zac Looker is Dustin. Also in the mix are Jessica Belkin, Danielle Chand, Matt Oberg, Chloe Wepper, Logan Shroyer, Sharon Taylor, David Burtka, Brad Harder, Kayla Maisonet, Lisa Yamada, and the late and much-missed James Van Der Beek.

Why we’re excited about Elle season 1

While the jury is still out regarding whether newcomer Lexi Minetree can fill Reese Witherspoon’s iconic pink pumps, Elle Woods is a beloved character for a reason, and this retro-tinged prequel series looks like it has the juice. Amazon certainly think so; a second season has already been commissioned, so we’ll be seeing more of Elle before too long.

Man, it’s hard to believe it’s been 25 years since go-getting fashionista Elle Woods charmed her way into…

[27
64,63,134,344
post-667682","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-movies","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-entertainment","tag-movies
["GET
