<\/p>\nPolice are investigating after a woman’s body was discovered outside a cafe and apartment complex in the heart of Joondalup’s CBD.<\/p>\n
Detectives say they received a report from paramedics about 9.45am on Wednesday that a woman’s body had been found on Grand Boulevard.<\/p>\n
“At this time, it is believed the woman was left at the scene by a male person, the circumstances of which are being investigated,” WA Police said in a statement.<\/p>\n
WA Police Detective Inspector Jayd Morawski said the man reportedly approached paramedics, who were already in the area, to seek assistance for the woman, before leaving.<\/p>\n
He said the man was known to the woman, but wouldn’t elaborate further.<\/p>\n
“We know who the man is \u2026 we are making every effort to make contact,” he told reporters on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n
“His knowledge around the circumstances around this morning are key to this investigation, so we do need his assistance in getting a full picture as to what occurred.<\/p>\n
“There are answers that need to be given, he can provide those answers.”<\/p>\n

Detective Inspector Jayd Morawski urged the man to make himself known to police.\u00a0 (ABC News)<\/p>\n
Detective Inspector Morawski said “significant” police resources were being put into contacting him, but said they would prefer he come forward voluntarily.<\/p>\n
“Ultimately we have a lot of resources and a lot of technology that we will deploy to find this person,” he said.<\/p>\n
“The best thing he can do is contact Joondalup detectives.”<\/p>\n
‘Isolated matter’<\/p>\n
Detective Inspector Morawski said there is no ongoing threat to community safety.<\/p>\n
“This is an isolated matter,” he said.<\/p>\n
The cause of the woman’s death is undetermined.<\/p>\n
The cafe next to where the woman’s body was found has shut early, with a note on the door saying it was closed to the public, but open to police and emergency services.<\/p>\n
Detectives urge anyone with information, or who has CCTV or dash-cam vision from the area around the time of the incident, to contact them.<\/p>\n
Joondalup is a major urban centre 28 kilometres north of Perth.
