Credit: Em Davies\/IG\/IG<\/p>\nPerth influencer Emily Gambin has hesitantly responded to her fans burning questions about whether she wants another child but says it will \u201cprobably\u201d be the only time she addresses it due to privacy concerns.<\/p>\n
The social media content creator, who some know as Em Davies before she married her partner Joel, took to Instagram to answer personal questions from her 407,000 followers who were eager for a life update.<\/p>\n
Gambin revealed \u201chalf of her question box\u201d was filled with fans asking if she wanted more kids \u2014 she gave birth to her first daughter Isla in 2024.<\/p>\n
The mother decided to answer the question by saying she does \u201cwant one more\u201d but was initially hesitant to respond to the sensitive topic.<\/p>\n
\u201cI do want one more eventually but I\u2019ve always liked the idea of a slightly bigger age gap,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve never personally loved the idea of two under two especially now because I had pretty bad postpartum depression after having Isla.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn saying that I do feel like I have much more knowledge and awareness now and I\u2019d probably have a lot more tools to support myself if we did have another baby one day. So I\u2019m not scared of it for that sense more so would just like to give myself some time and also Isla.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I also want to say and I have said this before I actually don\u2019t think we should be asking people this question as much as we do.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou never know what someone is going though behind the scenes. Some people are struggling with infertility, loss, pregnancy complications, relationship issues, mental health or maybe they simply don\u2019t want more.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd all of those reasons are valid. I actually wasn\u2019t going to answer this question but probably half my question box was asking it so I thought I\u2019d address it once here but I probably won\u2019t answer it again after this.\u201d<\/p>\n
Other curious followers asked Gambin to open up about managing postpartum depression which she began experiencing when Isla was six months old and lasted until January.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t even really know where to start when talking about postpartum depression because I don\u2019t think I fully realised I was in it while I was going through it,\u201d she revealed.<\/p>\n
Postnatal depression and anxiety affect up to one in five new mums and up to one in 10 new dads, according to Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia.<\/p>\n
Gambin said a lot of people wouldn\u2019t have even known what she was dealing with emotionally and at times \u201cdidn\u2019t even really know myself\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was still working, posting, showing up online, being a mum every day but internally I felt exhausted, overwhelmed, anxious and honestly just not like myself,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy brain never switched off and I felt guilt all the time. Guilty if I worked, guilty if I rested, guilty if I wanted time to myself, guilty if I felt overstimulated, guilty for having ppd haha.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m so grateful that I had such a supportive partner and such supportive friends around me during that time because it was pretty rough. I felt like I didn\u2019t even really know myself. Which is a scary feeling!\u201d<\/p>\n
