Dave Grohl credits seeing 12 members of Trouble Funk squeeze behind the desk as making him want to do it<\/p>\n
\n\tSomehow NPR\u2019s Tiny Desk managed to accommodate all six Foo Fighters<\/a> on a recent office visit, where the group played a five-song set of hits and their Your Favorite Toy<\/a> single, \u201cSpit Shine,\u201d which they opened with. The cluttered environment seemed to have no effect on the band, which is used to playing spacious stadium stages, as frontman Dave Grohl<\/a> leaned into the mic to snarl, \u201cYou know I don\u2019t really give a damn,\u201d before the band took over with some melodic backing vocals. When they finished, they simply smiled, and Grohl joked about how the microphone is \u201cthe hardest instrument of them all to play.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThen before launching into \u201cLearn to Fly,\u201d Grohl told the office how special this gig was to him. \u201cIt\u2019s an honor to be here,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019ve watched so many of these Tiny Desk shows and have a bunch of favorites. I have to say, when I saw Trouble Funk squeeze into this tiny little office space here<\/a>, I was like, \u2018It\u2019s not that tiny.\u2019 \u2026 But it\u2019s great to be here.\u201d<\/p>\n \t\tTrending Stories<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \n\tThe rest of the set list included Your Favorite Toy\u2019s \u201cChild Actor,\u201d and two of the band\u2019s most enduring hits, \u201cMy Hero\u201d and \u201cEverlong,\u201d off their 1997 album, The Colour and the Shape. When they finished, Grohl leaned back into the mic and said, \u201cThank you, that was a lot of fun,\u201d and the dozens of NPR staffers cheered and applauded.<\/p>\n
