A man accused of planning terrorist attacks in Perth has been charged with further offences, including possession of child abuse material, bulletproof clothing and violent extremist material on his devices.<\/p>\n

Jayson Joseph Michaels, 20, was arrested earlier this year as police alleged he had planned attacks on WA’s Parliament House, police headquarters and mosques.<\/p>\n

He was charged with multiple offences including preparing for a terrorist act, possessing ammunition and failing to store a firearm properly.<\/p>\n

History was made in WA when police charged a person for the first time with preparing a terrorist attack.<\/p>\n

During a bail hearing, the court heard Mr Michaels, from the town of Bindoon north of Perth, allegedly wanted his so-called “day of justice” to be worse than the attack at Bondi<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The court had also heard he had planned to make a gun with a 3D printer and had taken steps to get fertiliser.<\/p>\n

Mr Michaels appeared in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court via video link from custody on Wednesday, and six new charges were read out to him.<\/p>\n

He is now accused of possessing child abuse material on a computer, possessing bulletproof clothing, two counts of possessing violent extremist material and two counts of trying to seek objectionable material.<\/p>\n

He is scheduled to appear in court again in July.<\/p>\n
